Something strange is going on in Brooklyn. A giant bread creature is poised to attack the city, aliens are living next door, a bear turns up missing, felt critters are walking & talking, and old people start hooking up on the internets. Maybe there's something funny in the water.

The Pratt Institute's Media Arts Department proudly presents the Traditional Animation thesis films of the graduating class of 2007, as well as selected shorts. Students will be in attendance for a Q&A to talk about their stop motion, 2-D computer animation, and hand-drawn films.

Free and open to the public, May 4th & 5th, 7pm at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater

We are a group of animators that attend Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, New York. Here is our archives of sketches, photos, and animations.

Equipment Wishlist?

Hey Animators,
This might be tied up a bit because of Greg's jury duty, but it looks like in the next two weeks or so we'll be getting a second iStopMotion setup in D-9 and an ink & paint system in G-50. The ink & paint system will be running a program called CTP that's designed for television production with drawn animation. You can find information on it at www.cratersoftware.com . I used it for pencil tests and timing on Utica Cartoon, it's a good program.
Those were the two things I thought we needed immediately. So, I think I'll have some budget for next semester - what do you think the department needs most?

Oh, also I think we're already working on getting new stools for G-50 and some lockers for the hallway.

That is quite awesome. Go Fran!
Stools with a back might be nice.

Okay, I'll look into the paper punch. Maybe we could bolt it down to a permanent platform.
Any other suggestions?

i think locker's would be a great idea. i talked with hank recently about the department getting a display case for showing off animation work (stills and artwork and such) near the main doors in that big empty space next to the CG cases. Hank said he could try and arrange some block of time for us to be in the photo cases and says that intalling a new one is too much work, but I say "BAH", and thought it would be cool if we went around to places...like galleries or something...and asked if anyone would be willing to donate something of a display case to the school for us.
