Something strange is going on in Brooklyn. A giant bread creature is poised to attack the city, aliens are living next door, a bear turns up missing, felt critters are walking & talking, and old people start hooking up on the internets. Maybe there's something funny in the water.

The Pratt Institute's Media Arts Department proudly presents the Traditional Animation thesis films of the graduating class of 2007, as well as selected shorts. Students will be in attendance for a Q&A to talk about their stop motion, 2-D computer animation, and hand-drawn films.

Free and open to the public, May 4th & 5th, 7pm at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater

We are a group of animators that attend Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, New York. Here is our archives of sketches, photos, and animations.

Very IMPORTANT for dudes and dudettes entering their SENIOR YEAR

Cecilia told me to ask Hank about something today, and upon clarifying it for me, he also said to pass it along to the lot of you. Now, with the weight of the world on my shoulders, I come to the rest of you CURRENT JUNIORS, SOON-TO-BE SENIORS with an URGENT MESSAGE.

Playmates-of-the-year, if your turn-ons include GRADUATING ON TIME, I would suggest signing up for FILM 442-01, Major Seminar: Animation, at the Manhattan campus Wednesday mornings. I stress this because it is ONLY OFFERED IN THE FALL, even though this is not clear on the degree audit. If you don't take it this semester, your next chance will be in the Fall of '08. So, that's it. Make sure you get it taken care of.

Obviously, "hero" is the occupation I was born for. If any of you want to thank me, we're meeting at the Max after school... if you know what I mean. *slluuuuuurrp*

Keep Truckin'

There hasn't been many posts lately, and I know everyone's really busy...so here's just a little inspiration for all you hard workers finishing up your projects this semester:

Who else makes faces when you animate a character? I know I sure do...

ALSO...anyone ever come across this? Wonderful stuff.

btw...anyone up for seeing TMNT this Friday?

Spring Break Schedule

I am sorry if I asked this already, but I do not recall. I'm just curious as to where everyone will be for the first few days of Spring Break.

Sorry if I shouldn't be using the blog like this.

O_O?! Disney 2D?!

Disney's next animated fairy tale, The Frog Princess, will feature the studio's first black princess.

Maddy is an African-American girl living amid the faded grandeur of New Orleans' French quarter.

The movie will also see a return to the hand-drawn animation process, instead of using computer animation that has become the industry standard.

Not to steal Dan Mountain's thunder because I would not have known about this with out him, so give him the credit. After the Marv Newland Talk I found "Tales from the Far Side" on google video heres the
