Free Animation at MonkeyTown

Hey kids- here's info on a show I'm contributing to. It's being organized by the guy that made "Space War" and "Barfight." I'm doing a bit of animation with an animator I met at Ottawa, Sarah Van Den Boom. It's set to some rock-and-roll. I mean, we got "Planet Caravan", the least rocking song Sabbath ever made. Heck. It was still fun.

November 1 Day of the Dead with Black SabbathMany years ago, before the turn of the century, a man named Christy Karacas thought it might serve humanity if he and some 40 other artists all made 1 minute videos for each of the minutes of Black Sabbath's first album. Then. Like an exquisite corpse, Christy would sew the entire slew together and a seamless mash of images and sound would emerge.Many of those artists have gone on to become much better known artists and now this very exquisite video corpse has formed a lustre that eludes description and welcomes your eyeballs and ear drums. This has only been shown a few times.
AND. Get this. In honor of tonight's gathering, an entirely new corpse is being sewn. Black Sabbath's second album will play immediately following the first. And again, 40 some-odd artists will provide 1 minute snips inspired by Ozzy, et al. AND. Admission is Free. There will be cheap beer. The beds will be removed. The sound: loud. And no food will be served in the back room. Get ready!

Workin in G-50

Hey guys, just as a reminder of course about the meeting tomorrow at 4pm, but I also want to let everyone know that I'm going to be in G-50 tomorrow (sunday) at 1pm up to the meeting so I can get some work done in there before hand. Anyone who would like to join me is more than welcome to bring his or her work with them. There's plenty of space, and Fran's nice lunchbox in there so you can pencil test!

Hey kiddies, heads up for our next meeting...

Key-Frame showdown! (aka...a club meeting. yay.)
Room G-50 in the ARC lower level
4pm on Sunday, October 23rd.

I've got some ideas on club projects, including resurecting the 10-second animation project, that should be pretty doable, and might go towards inspiring us to make a more public showcase of our work on campus (might even be able to raise a few bucks with an idea like that!).

I'd also like to check out a key myself for every weekend, and be there myself for certain posted hours. I'm sure something like that would all give us a head start on homework, not to mention there being some equiptment in there. Whaddya guys think?

The movie was so awesome Friday night I want to have a Wallace & Gromit party where we can watch the original shorts and eat cheese and drink tea and stuff. I dunno when… maybe in two weekends? Anybody interested?

T-shirt design

These are the basic t-shirt designs. The bottom/top pegger shirts have a small Keyframe logo on the back and text "Pratt Animation Club", and the shirt with a large logo on the front has just the text on the back.

We have three shirts so far (t-shirts, sweatshirts, whatever you're wanting to print on). Get'em in by Oct 13. :}

Also (not actually available for print, due to silliness, but amusing...maybe O_o) the swing pegger shirt design.

Look, I gone and drew up an order form to print out and check stuff off. XD

Hey guys, i just started working for Media Arts. I'm stuck down in D-3 ( After Effects and Final Cut ) Every Sunday 11am-5pm. So If anyone wants to visit me or use the lab today, i'm here.... alone... *sniffle**.

Meeting and such

Reminding any kiddies who check this neato meato blog...that our next Key-Frame meeting is:

I'm borrowing a copy of Avoid Eye Contact 2 for us to watch, and afterwards whoever wants to will head out with Alisa to go see Wallace and Grommit! (see post below)

Also...where the heck is everyone on Saturdays?? I went to open drawing and Guy wasn't even there today (I am sad). If anyone is interested we should go to open drawing together on Saturdays, 1-4pm in room 4-D east hall...if you want. Pllleeeeaaase you guys know how much fun it is together! =D Except of course I wont be there next week since I'm planning on going to that juggling thing with Lee. heh.
